The ULT – a School of Theosophy

The United Lodge of Theosophists is not a, nor the “theosophical society.” On the contrary, it is a School of theosophy – an informal and wholly voluntary association of Students of theosophy. It deals only with individuals who are, or may become, interested in theosophy and the Theosophical Movement.

Believing to the full that “There is no religion higher than Truth” it is consistently devoted to the Three Objects of the Parent Theosophical Society which was founded at New York City, USA, in 1875 by H.P.Blavatsky, W.Q.Judge, H.S.Olcott and others. Those Three Objects are:-

1. To form the nucleus of a Universal Brotherhood of Humanity, without distinction of race, creed, sex, caste or colour.

2. The study of ancient and modern religions, philosophies and sciences, and the demonstration of the importance of such study.

3. The investigation of the unexplained laws of nature and the psychical powers latent in man.

The task of the ULT is the study and promulgation of the teachings of the Ancient Wisdom-Religion which were once again recorded for the present age by H.P.Blavatsky. Her message, complete and consistent in itself, embodies the old, old truths in a form suitable to our era; it presents the key for the understanding of the doctrines of Antiquity and the expositions of the Great Theosophists down the ages; it unveils the errors of religious creeds, while throwing light on the symbolic and allegorical language of old-world faiths; it points out the mistakes of modern science, while indicating the true lines of advance; it warns against the dangers of spiritualism and psychic practices, while teaching the correct methods of the spiritual life.

For a concise account of the Masters, their Wisdom, Religion or theosophy, and their message to humanity in our times, Echoes from The Orient, The Epitome of theosophy, and The Ocean of theosophy, all by William Q. Judge, should be carefully studied. For an exhaustive study of the same subjects, Isis Unveiled and The Secret Doctrine, and The Key to theosophy, all by H.P.Blavatsky, are the original and basic treatises.
