“Crossing the Wilderness” ~ Myths and Legends for Children and Parents (at Queens Gardens & online)

September 19 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm BST

Free

At this Sunday’s Myths group we read Crossing the Wilderness, the Apannaka Jataka (click for the illustrated text)

You can download and read and discuss it together with your children.

The myths and tales we read have helped – sometimes for thousands of years – their hearers to gain those qualities of confidence, fortitude and a quiet discernment that knows and handles well the events of life. And just as importantly they bring out the good natures of children and adults, of humour, toleration and charity, the indispensable social skills which make life more pleasant and cheerful.

If you would like to join for this or future Myths meetings, email info@theosophy-ult.org.uk.

Parents and children from ages 7-17 years all welcome.

Always free, donations are welcome but not requested.

All of us may have to cross a wilderness from time to time, so should we not learn what it means to take sufficient water for the voyage?
In the story Buddha uses ‘water’ as a metaphor for energy, health, time or wealth, all the things we ought not to waste. We hope you will read the story.

The ULT has good practice policies that create a happy and safe atmosphere for children and parents.
