“The Miserly Treasurer” at the Myths & Legends story hour

5th July 2020 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm BST

Free
The Myths story hour is on Skype on Sunday 5th July, 11 am to noon UK time.
This is the story which you can download and read >>>> PDF
It is about how a wise Sage converted a mean and miserly old treasurer from his tight-fistedness to generosity.
Buddha recounted that this had happened before when in times long gone by the same Sage had come up with a clever plan to shock the miser out of his stinginess and make him generous!

The story is called “Illisa, The Miserly Treasurer,” it is one of Buddha’s most instructive and amusing Jataka Tales.
